“How you doin’ tonight, man?” he asked. You had to give him credit for persistence. I saw him holding a small bottle of what looked like Jungle Juice Plus - a very strong brand of poppers. The shiny bottle with its fruity perfume filled the tense air: it was as though the atmosphere itself was tensing its muscles. My face was pressed against the six pack of the space around me and began to slide down to that pleasure pole below.
I looked up at him with eager eyes. “In a past life I designed Roman bathouses” Did I just say that? Oh Juice of the Jungle...I made great big quotes in the air with my fingers for emphasis. “Now I’m sitting here in a shredded towel that barely wraps around me, at what? 3 a.m.?”
He shifted his weight away from me and had an expression like he’d just snorted jungle poppers - a fire was within.
